Sign-ups are now open for the Fantastic First-Line Flashfic Festival on

ds_flashfiction! It works like this: you are assigned someone and you write a flashfic starting with the first line of one of their pre-existing stories. Meanwhile, someone else writes a flashfic starting with the first line of one of your stories.

I do want to play! This one is so good that even though I have sworn off snippets (because I am snippet-challenged and they just make me cry), I still want to play. The only reason I haven't yet signed up, though, is that you offered two options, and neither one seems to fit my situation exactly.

See, I'm happy to make all my stories fair game, but they are not all in one place, so I can't just post a link. I haven't put my holiday exchange stuff on my journal yet, for instance, and nothing of mine is, as yet, in either of the general archives.

So should I just take the second option and post a list of all my first lines? Or would it be better to put the various links to my stuff into my comment on the sign-up post?

I know it's stupid of me to get stuck on this. Because I could just take option #2 and not worry about it. But I'd kind of rather give people the option of actually reading the stories, as well (because that's what I'd want for the prompt I'd work with).

Hey there! Okay, so you could either a) make an LJ post with a list of all your fic, and link to that (which, you know, would be a good reference for people trying to find your fic anyway), or b) post a list of first lines with links to the stories they come from, and link to that. Either of those would work fine, yes? :-)

Hee! Thanks. *sighs* Of course I thought of that. In fact, I've been intending to make just such a post, but hadn't found time to do it yet. I just wanted to let you know why I was procrastinating. A tiny bit of indecision can slow me way down.

I'm not sure if other people would procrastinate for the same reasons, but it seemed at least possible. :)
